Terms of Service

Effective 18 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Rivett, an inventory management service for small manufacturers. By creating an account you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company.

1. What the service does

Rivett lets you record parts, locations and stock levels, move and adjust inventory, scan barcodes, and import and export that data as CSV. Some capabilities are sold as modules and are available only on the plans that include them or where you have purchased them separately.

2. Your account and your workspace

Your data lives in a workspace. The person who creates the workspace is its administrator and controls who else may access it, and at what level. Administrators can add and remove members at any time, and removing a member ends that person's access immediately.

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Tell us at hello@rivett.io if you believe an account has been compromised.

3. Your data belongs to you

You own everything you put into Rivett. We claim no ownership of it and we do not sell it, rent it, or use it to train machine learning models. We process it only to operate the service for you.

You can export your data as CSV at any time, from the Import & Export screen, on any plan, including during a trial and after a subscription lapses. There is no export fee and no lock-in clause. Exports cover your parts, your current inventory by location, and your full stock movement history.

4. Plans, trials and billing

  • Trials do not require a payment card. When a trial ends, nothing is deleted.
  • Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through Stripe. Charges renew automatically for the same period until you cancel.
  • Each plan has limits on users, top-level locations and parts; sublocations are not limited. If you exceed a limit you will be asked to upgrade before adding more.
  • If a subscription lapses, your workspace becomes read-only rather than being deleted. You keep access to your data and can still export it.

5. Price changes

We may change what a plan costs. If we do, you will get at least 60 days' notice by email before the new price applies to you, and the term you are currently paying for finishes at the price you already agreed. A price change never applies retroactively or mid-term.

6. Cancellation

There is no annual contract and no exit fee. You may cancel from the Billing screen on any day. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund the unused remainder of that period. Export your data before or after cancelling — the export remains available either way.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Rivett to:

  • break the law, or store data you have no right to store;
  • attempt to access another customer's workspace, or to probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission;
  • overload the service, whether by automated request volume or otherwise, in a way that degrades it for others;
  • resell or sublicense access without our written agreement.

8. Availability

We work to keep Rivett available and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can. We do not offer a service level agreement or an uptime guarantee on our standard plans. Custom agreements, including SLAs, are available on Enterprise terms — contact us.

9. Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and is backed up nightly. Access to production systems is limited to those who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not promise that one is; we will notify affected customers without undue delay if we become aware of a breach affecting their data.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or whose payment has failed and remained unresolved after we have asked you to fix it. Except where the law or an ongoing investigation prevents it, we will tell you first and give you a reasonable chance to export your data.

You may close your account at any time. Once you do, we delete your workspace data on the schedule described in our privacy policy.

11. Warranties and liability

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we disclaim implied warranties to the fullest extent the law permits. Rivett is a record-keeping tool: it reflects what you and your team enter into it, and you remain responsible for verifying your own inventory before relying on it for a business decision.

To the extent the law permits, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost production. Our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will give you at least 60 days' notice by email before it takes effect, on the same basis as a price change. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
